About this experience

A weaving village north of Kumasi that has supplied cloth to the Asantehene's court for generations, and runs its own community tourism scheme. You are shown the whole chain — cotton spun, yarn dyed, the narrow strip loom worked with the foot pedals, and the strips sewn into a full cloth — and you sit at a loom and weave a few inches yourself. Each pattern has a name and a meaning, and they will tell you them. — Indicative price. Entry and guide fees at this site are set by the body that manages it and change from time to time; the amount is confirmed when you book.
