Bonwire kente village

About this experience
The Asante kente town, about eighteen kilometres north-east of Kumasi, where the cloth has been woven on narrow looms for centuries and where tradition places its origin. Weavers work in open sheds along the road and will put you on a loom to try the treadle and shuttle yourself. Cloth is sold by the strip or by the full piece, and the price follows the thread — cotton, rayon or silk. — Indicative price. Entry and guide fees at this site are set by the body that manages it and change from time to time; the amount is confirmed when you book.
