Elmina fish market and the morning landing
1 / 5About this experience
The canoes come in to Elmina from first light, three or four hundred of them in the lagoon below the castle, and what they land is sold on the quay within the hour — red snapper, cassava fish, barracuda, tuna, and the small ones salted and smoked on the spot. Go early. This is a working harbour, not a display, and the best place in Ghana to understand how the coast eats. — Indicative price.
