Fort William, Anomabo
1 / 5About this experience
The British built it in 1753 to keep the French off Anomabo, which was then one of the busiest slave-trading beaches on the whole Gold Coast. Renamed in the 1830s after William IV by its commander Brodie Cruickshank, who added a storey. The fort served as a prison into the modern era and still looks out over the Anomabo surf and the fishing canoes. — Indicative price.
