Fufu and light soup — Kumasi
1 / 3About this experience
In Ashanti, fufu is cassava and plantain pounded in a wooden mortar until it is smooth and elastic — two people, one pounding and one turning, in a rhythm that takes practice and will make your arms ache. It is eaten with light soup, groundnut soup or palm nut soup, swallowed rather than chewed. You pound it, you cook the soup, and you eat it. — Indicative price.
