Lake Bosumtwi
1 / 5About this experience
Ghana's only natural lake, about thirty kilometres from Kumasi, filling a meteorite impact crater roughly eight kilometres across. The Asante hold it sacred — the dead are said to come here to take leave of the god Twi — and tradition long restricted fishing to wooden planks called padua. The crater rim road and the villages around the shore make the day. — Indicative price.
