Yaa Asantewaa Museum, Ejisu
1 / 2About this experience
Ejisu was the town of Nana Yaa Asantewaa, the Queen Mother who led the Asante in the War of the Golden Stool against the British in 1900 — the last major war led by a woman in Africa. The museum beside her family house holds what survived a fire in 2004 and what has been rebuilt since. A short stop with a very long reach, and on the road between Kumasi and Lake Bosumtwi. — Indicative price.
